Apply to Join UNEP as a UN volunteer (2024-2025) : UNEP/UNV Young Talent Pipeline
The United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) and the United Nations Volunteers (UNV) have joined forces to launch the Young Talent Pipeline initiative, aimed at identifying and nurturing young professionals with a passion for environmental issues. This program seeks to engage individuals in addressing critical global challenges such as climate change, pollution, and biodiversity loss.
Program Objectives The UNEP UNV Young Talent Pipeline has a dual objective:
- Deployment of Young Talented Individuals: The program aims to deploy a cohort of 12 young talented individuals who will work on areas aligned with UNEP’s mandate.
- Global Representation: Candidates from Latin America and the Caribbean, Eastern Europe, Asia-Pacific, and Africa are specifically sought to ensure diverse representation.
Candidate Requirements
To be eligible for the program, applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Age Requirement: Candidates should be 33 years old or younger.
- Academic Qualifications: Applicants must hold relevant academic degrees.
- Professional Experience: A minimum of three years of professional experience is required.
- Passion for Environmental Issues: Individuals with a strong commitment to addressing climate change, pollution, nature loss, and biodiversity issues are encouraged to apply.
Assignment Opportunities
Selected candidates will be based at UNEP’s headquarters in Nairobi, Kenya. Assignments are expected to commence in November 2024 and last for 12 months, with the possibility of extension.
