This is when you come into play:
As Senior Technical Agricultural Financing Manager, you will give technical assistance to our Microfinance Institution (MFI) network’s agricultural finance.
The post is grant-funded and will primarily focus on ten nations, but will also be able to give assistance to others.
the remainder of the network To date, much of VFI agricultural finance has been “vanilla finance,” with balloon loans serving as the only distinctive feature.
You will provide more hands-on technical assistance in the assessment, design, piloting, and rollout of new agricultural products that will allow VF MFIs to finance farmers that World Vision is facilitating through its local value chain work (LVCD) and as savings groups (S4T) continue to grow with FAST support. Furthermore, as climate change has a greater impact on our rural clients, you will aim to enhance both our ability and reputation in providing climate-resilient goods and services. You will also bring together all of our learnings and practices to enable VFI to compete more effectively for grants and contracts.
establish us as a market leader in agriculture financing
Among the requirements are:
Agriculture Economics postgraduate degree or comparable agricultural degree
Working in the agricultural financing industry in Africa for 10 years or more, either for banks, MFIs, finance firms, or NGOs.
At least 5 years of this must be spent delivering financial services to farmers rather than merely advising/consulting them.
Extensive international experience (not limited to one or two places)
Experience with value chain finance or agricultural cooperative financing
Experience working on initiatives with multinational organizations (E.g World Bank, IFAD, FAO)
Working on and/or creating initiatives having a climate change component is required (e. FMNR)
