University of Global Health Equity (UGHE)
Description
Organizational Profile
The Institution of Global Health Equity (UGHE) is a new type of university dedicated to educating the next generation of global health leaders. In September 2015, the institution opened its doors in Rwanda with its flagship degree program, the Master of Science in Global Health Delivery. Students are empowered to both alleviate suffering at the bedside and promote revolutionary, systemic changes to the health system via an academic experience that is distinctively founded in equity ideals.
Partners In Health (PIH) is an internationally known non-profit organization whose aim is to give a preferential alternative in health care for the disadvantaged. PIH has created a methodology for providing high-quality health care to some of the world’s most disadvantaged people after over three decades of working with public sectors in nations around the world. Nowhere has this had a greater impact than in Rwanda, where Inshuti Mu Buzima, PIH’s sister organization, and our government partners have been driving innovation for over a decade.
